Three calls dominate our Halawa schedule: termites, roaches, and rodents. Warm conditions allow year-round insect activity here, so infestations never die back the way they do in colder climates a colony found in February is just as active as one found in July.
First, drywood termites. Older postwar homes near Moanalua Valley often show hollow-sounding wood with tiny pinholes.
Our crew probes suspect framing, uses moisture readings, and recommends either localized treatment or whole-structure fumigation depending on how far the colony has spread. Self-check: tap baseboards with a screwdriver handle and look for small frass piles below.
Second, cockroaches in kitchens. Roaches gather near drains and appliances, and crawlspace moisture management matters because damp subfloors feed the population. We use crack-and-crevice application rather than broad spraying. Self-check: run a flashlight along the drain line at night.
Third, rodents. We place bait stations based on site inspection and seal entry points.
We cover all of Halawa, including ZIP codes 96818 and 96701.
